Fight!

Posted: Friday, August 31st, 2007 @ 1:05 pm in General | No Comments »

I went to our sca armoured combat practice last Wednesday. I have decided, as my free time has undergone some revisions lately, that I want to dedicate some effort to doing armoured combat again. I tried to get into it once before, but found I couldn’t find the free time with other priorities ranking higher.
I […]

Where’s my tuna!

How do 6 cans of tuna shrink wrapped into one unit, that I just bought recently….go missing?
Bah.
I am packing up to go to just outside Kitchener this weekend. The is..I think, my first multi-day sca event where I am not camping. There are bunks on site (a boy scout camp I think), mattress…indoors, I assume […]

Insightful questions

In the miss teen USA pageant, the contestants are asked some thought provoking questiosn such as (I shit you not), “Who do you prefer, Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie, or Lindsay Lohan, and why”
Asked to the eventual overall winner. I’m glad they are truely challenging their minds to some insightful commentary.
No I didn’t watch it, just […]

Spirits you can generally keep for a long time after the bottle is opened, wine you generally want to finish quickly.
Where does sherry fall in that line of thought?
I opened a nice sherry yesterday, I just don’t know whether I need to be making a point of finishing it over the next few […]

Not as sore as I might have been…

On Thursday night, I helped Helen most of the rest of her stuff to her new apartment, from the old. This consisted of carrying things down her fire escape and into cars over and over. Fairly straightforward, but it meant an entire evening of almost constant climbing up and and down 2 and a half […]

Pride

I know some of you always set up shop somewhere downtown to watch the parade. I’ve only ever seen the pride parade once, but it was good fun, and this year I am not out of town to an SCA event like I usually am.
Who’s seeing it, where are you setting up?

servers

If you work in a tech environment, typically servers are given names, usually interesting or catchy ones, often following a theme (planets, or plants, or elements, or …. whatever).
So first of all, what use is a server name of
caotlpdevbld1
Second, is my geeky side showing that I keep calling it catoblepas 1

The sureté in Quebec have now admitted that the 3 officers in the Montebello standoff were in fact police officers, but denies they were there to provoke anyone. They were just in the crowd to gather information, and spot potential troublemakers.
Guess what, the guys wearing maskes, holding ROCKS, and coming face with the police line, […]

I am still feeling that generalized tiredness that followed the cold, and it’s pissing me off.
But I think I feel it less. Last night, I decided that relaxing and taking it easy wasn’t helping, and I finally hit the gym again for the first time since before Pennsic. I wanted to get moving again, get […]

Hey look, it’s the tail end of a cold, Ansfrid is therefore so tired he might fall asleep at his desk.
I sometimes end this way at the end of a cold, so tired, that it’s hard to express just how tired. Like…real tired, unnaturally so. It’s the way it goes, once the cold is […]
